Pain and discomfort are clearly not a desirable experience. Yet so often the reason we find them to be so challenging is because we make it far more complicated in our mind, than if we were just to experience it. Pain and Discomfort are factors of life, and yet we try so hard to avoid and distract. This avoidance and distraction often leads to more pain and discomfort. 

In this episode, I use the metaphor of Child Birth as a way to relay the importance and possibility that pain and discomfort provide. This lens is immensely useful if you have had a child birth experience, are approaching one, or even have just thought about what it might be like to give birth... probably painful! I diffuse your misconceptions about pain and make strong suggestions for how to increase your tolerance, move towards discomfort and reap the many benefits of this process. Turns out our pain and discomfort often results in transformative moments.
