Today we are joined with Tim Higgins. Tim currently serves as a Technical Expert for Utilities. He was employed by the City of Sioux City for over twenty-five years, he worked twelve years as the Utilities Superintendent and was responsible for 360+ miles of storm sewer, 360+ miles of sanitary sewer, and 475 miles of water main. Also during his time as the Utilities Superintendent from 2013 to 2016 he filled the role as the Public Works Safety Manager for the City of Sioux City. Served 2.5 years (1987-1990) on Active Duty in the Airforce as an Aircraft Mechanic on the B-1B aircraft and 19 years (1990-2009) in the 185th ANG as an Electrician. During his time in the 185th he served as the Safety NCO for the Electrical Shop and as the Shop Supervisor.
As a Technical Expert at McClure Engineering, Tim is responsible for providing technical guidance and directing staff in the planning, design, and construction review of utility projects. Tim has a wide variety of experience in the infrastructure construction field, ranging from paving work, sanitary and storm sewer construction and repair, and water main construction and repair. Tim is certified in Drinking Water Distribution Grade 4, Drinking Water Treatment Grade 2, Wastewater Treatment Grade 2, and Collection Systems Grade 4. He also provides Confined Space Safety training for the field staff and serves on the McClure Safety Committee where he has written/updated several company safety policies.
