When it comes to a child’s room environment, dark is best... and yes this goes for adults too! Based on how our circadian rhythms work, our brains understand that it’s time for sleeping when the environment is dark.
There is certainly an argument that babies should sleep in the light so they “learn” to sleep well anywhere. My counter-argument to that is this: If we, as humans, “learned” to sleep well under bright lights, none of us would have curtains in our bedrooms as adults. We wouldn’t need them! But we do need them – because humans all (babies and adults alike!) sleep better in the dark. Listen in to this episode for more information on babies sleep environment, and why dark is best!
In this episode we've partnered with Nanobébé - a company dedicated to creating amazing products that will guide you through your baby’s feeding journey. Because really, if there is one thing as parents that’s just as important and often just as daunting as baby’s sleep, it’s feeding our babies! Check out nanobebe.com and nanobebe.ca today, and enter code HAPPYSLEEP for 20% off ANY of their products until June 30, 2021.
