Description

Sometimes people don't realize that they have a disability that can be supported and accommodated at college, so this podcast dives deeper into the definition of a disability as provided by the ADA and why an individual should follow up with Disability Service at their college. We define 3 key terms  from  ADA disability and explain the concepts of a disability itself, major life functions, and substantially limits.  We talk about visiting the Disability Services office even if your disability hasn't been diagnosed and finally about the impacts of that definition by the ADA on those individuals with learning disabilities and ADHD.

I also share with you information about a guest appearance I am making Tuesday, August 10 on Facebook live with Empowering Homeschool Students on the SPED Homeschool facebook group, where I will be presenting "Teaching Students Self-Advocacy Skills."
