Description

Ever wonder what goes on beyond the doors of the pathology department? What ever happened to that tissue biopsy that the surgeon sent, or the blood smear that the medicine team ordered? Most importantly, who are those people in those dimly-lit microscopy rooms and what are their lives like? Well here to shine light on this mystery is none other than Dr. Steve Gilday.

Dr. Gilday is a fourth-year resident at the UCMC Department of Pathology and a former UC College of Medicine MD-PhD graduate. In this episode, he describes his journey into pathology, what the day-to-day life of a pathologist looks like, and shares helpful advice to students who may be interested in this medical subspecialty as a future career.
