Description

“I would define energy management as prioritizing your body before your time or income.”

—  Brittany Berger

Content strategist Brittany Berger is dedicated to ending hustle culture.

Brittany has always loved creative work — but didn’t love the fast-paced, high-pressure environments and workflows of agencies and start-ups.

Being overworked definitely isn’t conducive to creating great content and Brittany was verging on permanent burnout.

At one point, she was working while in the emergency room in between doctor check-ins.

She knew there had to be a better way to work… and she actually found it.

Then, she founded WorkBrighter.co, an online community of people ready and eager for an easier, more joyful, and more accessible way of working.

One of the pillars of her approach is rejecting unreasonable expectations and the hustle mindset.

“I didn’t feel bad saying no to certain projects,” Brittany explains. “From day one of freelancing full-time, I have not taken anywhere near all of the opportunities that come into my inbox, in terms of client work. Because I know, yes, it might bring in this amount of money, but at what cost? And what else could I be doing in my business otherwise?”

In this conversation, Brittany shares content creation strategies, advice on how to start a content library, and her thoughts on the power of threaded tweets.
