On this episode, the Chino Y Chicano talk with former KUSA news reporter Lori Lizarraga, one of the three Latinas whose contracts were not renewed by the Denver station over the past year. Lizarraga detailed the conflicts the three endured at 9News in an article she wrote for the Denver publication Westword. The article raised serious questions about discrimination, KUSA newsroom management practices and the commitment to diversity at KUSA as well as its parent company, Tegna, which also owns KING 5 Television in Seattle. Lizarraga talks about her journey to KUSA, the challenges, and the impact on her future in journalism.
