Description

Welcome to “Re-humanizing One Another” - Episode 18 of Co-creating Peace – a series about conscious communication and conflict transformation.

Today’s topic relates in many ways to what I spoke about in last week’s episode, which was the frame of reference in which we see one another, and which we sometimes lock people into in our mind. One frame in which we often see and entrap others is in the role they have in our life or in our experience.

Have you ever noticed how often we see other people as a role, rather than as a person? When we do that, we objectify and dehumanize them. We write a story in our mind about them based on whatever role we see them in, rather than to see them as who they truly are and learn their story from them.

Whether it’s because of the color of their skin, their ethnic origin, their gender, their beliefs, their profession, or their relationship to us – there are so many reasons that we dehumanize each other, and so many more reasons why we should – instead – re-humanize one another. In this episode, we’ll explore that.

Share your thoughts, reactions, feedback & ideas with me. I'd love to hear from you!
