Twenty states have filed an amicus brief with the US Supreme Court in support of President Trump’s executive order that the federal government is not to grant documents of citizenship to persons born on American soil to parents who are not themselves American citizens or permanent resident aliens.
Trump’s executive order has been enjoined by a lower federal court, and he is now appealing to the Supreme Court to stay, or freeze, that injunction.
