In this episode, Faith Barker shares her incredible testimony of moving beyond the life she desperately wanted to live the life she created for herself.
"One of the things that I struggled with a lot when I was younger was not my mother's crack addiction, because I processed that, and obvious and it was visual, and it was tangible. I went to foster care, my mother deteriorated. My sisters and I were separated. In the end, what was most impactful to me was not knowing my father, I don't know who he is. I don't know where he is. I don't know if he knows that I exist, and the lack of a consistent male presence did not serve me well in life."
This newly married, woman of faith values living authentically and maximizing individual potential, and desires that same gift for older adults and adults with disabilities throughout their life span.
Faith was a Title IV-E recipient and holds a Master of Social Worker degree with an emphasis on administration and planning from San Francisco State University.
