“The Big and the Small of it”

God’s glory is not confined to the earth but is clearly visible in the heavens.

The next line is interesting because it speaks of God establishing a stronghold against his enemies. Were this to be a physical structure it would be a fortress or a walled city, an impregnable place of security for His people. But this castle is not built of stone it is established through the praise of children and infants.

The voices of the young drown out the lies and godless chatter of the foe and the avenger. It is yet another example of God using things that are disregarded and devalued in the eyes of the world to advance his kingdom.

It is good for me to remember how small I am

But important that at the same time I remember how big God is

And to review my calling and renew my commitment to following him in the company of his people.

This is the eighth  of a series that began life as a commitment to Counting my Blessings every day after ankle surgery on July 2nd 2021.

Initially I made a brief post on social media and wrote a daily reflection on a Psalm following the same numerical progression.

Later on in the 100 days I began to also reflect on other scriptures and combine those into my daily post

These thoughts from Psalms earlier in the journey have not been made public  until now as I was writing primarily for my own benefit. I have been encouraged to share these now.
