Description

So much of our identity is wrapped in who we are as mothers - whether we are one, what kind of mum we are and how we raise our children. When Rosie experienced a miscarriage, followed by a season of infertility, she threw herself into the Word of God. Hear how God shaped her through this time, how He revealed himself to her and how her identity shifted from the mother she wanted to be, to the woman and child of God she is called to be.

* This conversation covers miscarriage and infertility * If you are struggling with recovery after loss, please know there is help out there. Beyond Blue and PANDA Australia are helpful, free resources to tap into.

“I realised that no matter what you find your identity in in a worldly sense, those things can be taken away from you. So what are you left with?”

“Hannah’s cry out to God in 1 Samuel was one of the biggest things that moved me and made me realise, it’s okay to cry out to God with what you want. It’s okay to cry out to God for the things that are on your heart, the things that are distressing you, that you’re longing for. And in doing that, she’s being faithful and trusting in God in giving everything over to Him.”

“Motherhood has not been the blessing. But their obedience to God and His call in their lives, and His plans and purposes, is what has ultimately brought blessing."

“Motherhood isn’t it. Motherhood isn’t the goal. But rather being obedient to God. Who I am in relation to God is what defines me, not whether I’m a Mum or not.”

“To obey God's Word, you need to be IN God's Word. You have to have that as the soul text and truth on which you rely. Knowing what God says in the bible only helps you to be obedient."

“It’s okay to be worn out and exhausted because it’s God's reminder to us that we need him."
