Description

Putting our needs aside for others feels righteous for a while, and then depletes us quickly. Even when it’s a choice we make because we love someone, or perhaps especially then, there is a tipping point when caring for others starts to build resentment. I am not sure if there actually is anyone out there who truly gets their energy entirely from serving others while setting their own needs aside. At some point, we must face that we are human beings that have our own needs, too. We need to choose ourselves at least as often as we choose to do what others want or need. Otherwise, for myself at least, I become a worse version of myself that compounds over time.
