Last year bugs invaded my potted plants. Not just one kind, but TWO kinds of bugs, and I have gone through crazy lengths to care for my plants and keep them healthy and pest-free. Today’s episode is all about the difficult and painful things we do for love, even when it’s for a houseplant.
Episode Highlights:
00:13 There’s frustration that comes with caring for something and loving something or someone.
01:00 It started as a beautiful tree with flowers but no fruit, and then turned into seething pot full of gnats and gross bugs that spread from plant to plant before I noticed it happening!
02:19 Guys, I have so many houseplants, I can’t even tell you…
02:30 Over the year, every single plant in my house got infected with these bugs. It was like watching a demonstration of how a pandemic spreads and revealing the horror in real time.
04:00 Ok, I’m going to have to try and clean the bugs off and save the lives of my plants. I go ALL IN.
04:10 My friends all offered up remedies and solutions to the bug problem. I tried them all to limited success.
04:57 It took me two full work days to clean my plants leaf by leaf with cotton swabs. This is what I do for love.
06:26 You were supposed to give me fruit, and all you give me is pain!
09:04 I think maybe I’ve given enough love and attention to these plants that they’re going to be OK, but then a NEW problem comes up!
09:33 Desperation sets in and I wonder, should I just give up and buy new plants and let these ones die outside in the snow?
10:03 What do you call a group of house plants? A flock? I’m calling mine a flock.
12:00 Sometimes love is going way out of our way to do things we don’t really want to do for the sake of keeping the object of our love happy and healthy and safe.
