The complex rhythms of jazz and tastes of wine complement each other during this annual event set in the mountain town of Nederland. Committed to elevating diverse music styles and promoting Colorado wineries, distilleries, breweries, and non-alcoholic makers, “Ned Jazz Wine” is known for exciting both the ears and the palate.
The day-long festival gathers jazz performers from Colorado to New York, delivering Latin, Funk, Neo soul, and Swing subgenres. Filling up the experience are unlimited tastings from 25 liquid booths, plus 10 vendors offering food and 13 material artists showing their creations. Chipeta Park’s mountain views, rushing water, and open spaces are the perfect backdrop to enjoy the scenery, sounds, and sips.
Performers include Medianoche Honrado with special guest Steve Wilson, who NPR heralded as, “...a musician of honesty within the vast field of mainstream post-bop, but never constrained by its parameters... one of the finest saxophonists in the business.” Mr. Wilson is a first-call saxophonist and flutist who tours and records with Grammy winners in the jazz scene. Colorado musicians include Greg Gisbert, Justin Adams, Halle Tomlinson, and Jeremy Mohney.
