At her heart Vanessa is a storyteller. She has done many types of writing, from poems, songs, and short stories to news articles, blog posts, copywriting, and even scriptwriting. Her favourite, however, has always been writing stories where she gets to create new worlds, getting to know her sassy characters, going on epic adventures, and seeing good triumph over evil.
Vanessa also has some disabilities and uses her lived experience and love of writing to help other writers create meaningful characters with disabilities that don’t add to the damaging messages about disability out in the world
