Finally getting around to the trailer for this pod!

Normal folks do this first...but here I am 45 episodes in  getting my thoughts together.

To be fair and completely honest, when I started the work In I was not completely clear on the vision. I mean sure I had a general idea that I wanted to talk about the nervous system and the stress response and how to safely self regulate it naturally. But outside of that I was just trying to be open to letting this podcast become what it wanted to be. 

And it has. So I feel like I’m finally ready to give you the official trailer for The Work IN and add some specificity and focus going forward. So here goes.

My name is Ericka Thomas and I’m a refugee from the body brand nation. I hold multiple certifications and specialties and spent almost half of my life in the fitness industry as a personal trainer, group fitness instructor and health coach.

The Work IN is a way for me to share some different perspectives on the wellness industry to help health conscious fit pros get more out of the formats they teach for themselves and the clients they serve by incorporating simple safe self regulation techniques straight out of the trauma informed playbook.

Health coaches, fitness instructors and personal trainers as well as other health conscious educators are in a unique position to be able to make a profound difference in our communities with just a simple change in understanding about the stress response. 

In this podcast you’re going to hear a lot of topics related to dealing with stress. Some of them will be directed to the fit pros and the body brand nation, some will be business oriented with tips and coaching on the wellness industry itself and some will be building a deeper understanding of the nervous system with tools that you can apply immediately whether you’re listening for yourself or hoping to help others.

Either way let’s stay real, open. Curious and kind with each other. And for god sakes stop working out and start working in.
