In our return to the Inspiration Series, another former teammate and 11 time Ironman, Denise Everett, is talking with me about life before, during, and after a head on collision with a truck while riding a scooter that left her a quadriplegic.
Her will to live, her approach to life and recovery, and sheer awe that she lived to hold her new grandchild will amaze you and encourage you to live life to the fullest, everyday.
The biggest message she left us with was "Get out of your rut of despair. Get a little mad at yourself and take that first step. It is so very, very important. The rewards will build and someday surprise you with something you never could have dreamed of. There are so many surprises out there around the corner, but you've got to get to that corner first."
