Jackie Hope and her husband Ray went all in on Mountain Sports after a trip to Japan inspired them. They were near 50 years of age and decided to go all in trying out and discovering this new passion. It didn't matter that Jackie had never considered herself an athlete, they just surrounded themselves with knowledge people and took it step by step.

- Movement is for everybody. Challenge is for everybody. Sport is for everybody.
- Constantly challenge your limiting belief mindsets.
- Part of trying new challenges involves being educated and prepared.
- You can’t live your life in fear and not do the things that may fill you up just because something bad might happen.
- Doing outdoor sports puts you in nature and in an appreciation of it.
- To be able to have adventures, it takes a financial plan to save for it specifically. Then DO IT.
- A new adventure doesn’t have to be sport related - it may be something like taking up filmmaking like Jackie and Ray.
- If you take advantage, midlife offers a confluence of factors that help us get us where we need to go to do things we once only dreamed of.
- You are either an I can’t person or a I can person. There’s always going to be a next barrier.
- Little imposter voices may be in your head, but you can learn new things because being in midlife we are not true beginners at anything.
- Getting started in any new thing involves finding experts to help you start. Make sure to get the right advice.
- Be a good beginner. You may be younger than people teaching or leading you. Be humble and grateful. Open and willing to learn. And knowing you are not a poser. Don’t let your ego make you afraid to be the newbie.
