Welcome back to a new episode of “This One Thing” where each week we are challenged to look at a truth from God's word and choose to apply it to our lives. This week Melina Puente and Crystal Wright focus on the authority and mercy of Jesus to restore a man tormented by demon possession. In the aftermath of this miracle, the man begs to go with Jesus as one of his followers but is given other instructions instead in Mark 5:19, But Jesus said, “No, go home to your family, and tell them everything the Lord has done for you and how merciful he has been.”
When the mercy of Jesus shows up and transforms our lives, we often find ourselves eagerly looking for ways to respond with our whole hearts and lives. Although the specifics of how this plays out in each Christian life may vary, Jesus gives each of his followers an important assignment, "tell them everything I have done." Every transformed heart has the opportunity to testify of God's healing, mercy, power, and redemption. What's your salvation story? How has God redeemed you from pain and torment? Do you trust that God can use your testimony wherever you are living, working, and serving? God desires to use the power of what He has done in your life to show others the way to freedom.
