For years I used food as a crutch to cope with my emotions. Only after becoming incredibly aware of my feelings on a consistent basis have I been able to focus on treating the root cause of my emotions as opposed to a band-aid emotional eating fix.
Level 1:
1. Write out what you're feeling before and after eating
2. Write out any incidents that contributed to certain emotions
Level 2:
1. IDENTIFY: What am I feeling?
2. Is this feeling Valid? (Yes/No)
3. What can I do/say/feel/think to help me at this moment?
