Amy Wilson takes a deep dive with us on this episode and goes into depth of her story as Former Miss Rodeo America, TV Broadcaster on the Cowboy Channel, and a rodeo Cowgirl! We go behind the scenes to where it all started with Amy, and how she has always had a heart to grow the sport of breakaway roping, and has been a huge advocate behind the scenes! We touch on Amy getting back into the roping pen, and how she got involved in rodeo, she worked her way in through the rodeo queen pageants, to her professional career as a broadcaster.
Amy opens up about her personal walk through life, she talks to us today with a new outlook on life after walking through some fire that some will relate to… domestic abuse. Amy talks about her journey as a domestic abuse survivor, the impact that it had on her, and how she is learning the tools to deal with the shame, blame, and guilt that was pushed on her. This episode really opened my eyes to the things that we don't see behind the scenes, and those who are going through something more than we may know. Amy's advice to those going through something similar is, “ we all have our struggles, we are all human, give yourself grace.”
