Description

During his Chrism Mass homily on April 4, 2023, at the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle, Bishop Parkes spoke of the the priesthood and the Eucharist and the unity and communion that a bishop shares with parishes and with the faithful of our Diocese, and that our parishes share with one another.

"Of all the things that we do as priests, I believe that celebrating the Eucharist with and for the people has a preeminent importance in our lives, and in the life of the Church. It is good for us to remember this, during this time of Eucharistic renewal, here in our Diocese, our parishes and our country. God has called us through our vocation to priesthood, to be instruments by which his son is truly made present in the world today in the Eucharist, which is His son's Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity."
