Today we’re going to be talking about unresolved grief. Grief can be sneaky, and it often shows up when we least expect it. That’s why it’s important to know the events behind the grief to understand its nature.

But we experience grief in many different forms throughout our lives. Unfortunately, we don’t always recognize or have the language to understand or communicate these emotions. It’s not uncommon for a few unfortunate events to snowball into something much more serious, like illness or depression. And this is why it’s so important to recognize that grief can come in many different forms and offer support to those who may be experiencing it, even if it isn’t death related.

I am excited to introduce you to Judy Lipson, who has survived the loss of two sisters and has lived with unprocessed emotions for 30 years. In 2011, Judy founded Celebration of Sisters, an annual ice-skating fundraiser to commemorate the lives of her two sisters, Jane and Margie. Judy is an author of several published articles, a keynote speaker for the Bereaved Parents USA Conference in 2023, and she’s also authored a book called Celebration of Sisters: It Is Never Too Late To Grieve.
