This was based on a prompt to watch this video and then just write down what we saw. (Irene Cooper's poetry class):
Egg yolk, cell division, yellow, salt crystals, converging, black hole-like, yellow hole, yellow whole, implode, engulf itself, shaping, ghost in the shell, life magic, spirit, God particles, army of cells at work, a city in the clouds, the separate merges to the singular, an entity, consciousness, a pulse, a beat, movement, I’m here, but where? I’m blind, but can soon see, the clouds are separating, I can feel, I’m stuck but can move a little, can I get out of here? I think I can!! I’m free! See ya!
Just a yellow yolk where the story unfolds,
Crystals converging like a black-hole,
Shaping, engulfing itself, the whole,
Implodes and hones the ghost in the shell,
The magic of life, and the army of cells,
God’s particles, its spirit, exists!
A city in the clouds pivots to mist—
or animist—separate merges to the singular,
An entity emerges, is it secular?
A pulse a beat and now movement,
I’m here, but where, blindly perusin' it,
Feelings are in I’m hard at twerk
I”m outta this place, so I can flirt!
Meet my mate and drop my seed,
We’re back to this egg’s infinite mystery.
