In this week’s study, I continue in Chapter 17 verses 13 to 16. Before I get into the study, I discuss some new events about the global elite. I share with you an article by Rob Pue, “Globalist Babylon is Coming”, The Parliament of World Religions; 2923 Chicago – Parliament of World Religions and “School of Darkness” a book by Bella Dodd.
As we begin this verse 13, I must remind you that within the the structure of this Chapter 17 that we have 3 pairs pertaining to the Beast system.
Remember that I showed you about the different events that take place in heaven and earth. In Chapter 15 John’s vision was in heaven and he was shown the 7 Vials of the angels. Beginning with Chapter 16, John is now giving us a vision on earth pertaining to the 7 vials. This vision continues to Chapter 19, where John is given the vision in the heaven.
(8-10) gives the first pair.
11, 12) gives the second pair.
(13-17) gives the third pair.
13. These = the second pair of verses 11 and 12
These have one mind = (i.e., the same view, intent, and consent). There is no doubt about it, as we study this, they will be united in their allegiance to the beast as together they oppose the Lamb and oppose all who belong to him.
and give up their power and authority unto the beast. = Not only are they of that period as to time, but they are of one accord as to purpose.
Then the angel digresses briefly to underscore the level of hostility that the beast and these 10 kings will have against the Lamb, against all who belong to him. In this verse 14 we will see that
The Messiah will overcome the 10 kings who follow antichrist (Revelation 17:14)
The devil will bring together the antichrist (Yahshua Messiah’s great enemy), the kings or rulers of the nations (Revelation 16:14), and their armies for war. This will be the great final battle at Armageddon (Revelation 16:16).
Clearly, those kings are the same as the 10 kings who support antichrist’s rule in Revelation 17:12-13. The soldiers in that battle may believe that their enemies are other people. However, that battle will be extraordinary, because the real purpose of the devil and the antichrist will be to fight against Yahshua Messiah. In Revelation 17:14, as elsewhere in the Book of Revelation, Yahshua is called by his title, the Lamb.
14. These shall make war with the Lamb = The Lamb of Yahweh - the Lord Yahshua Messiah (See Rev. 5:6 on the Lamb); that is, they would combine with the New World Order in opposing evangelical religion
And the Lamb shall overcome them = Shall ultimately gain the victory over them. The meaning is, that they would not be able to extinguish the true religion.
For he is Lord of lords, and King of kings = He has supreme power over all the earth, and all kings and princes are subject to his control.
And they that are with him = The reference is to the persecuted saints who have adhered to him as his faithful followers in all these extended conflicts. So now where is the Rapture?
Are called = That is, called by him to be his followers; as if he had selected them out of the world to maintain his cause.
Now, the defeat that is here anticipated will occur at the battle of Armageddon. It is also called “the battle of the great day of Yahweh almighty,” in chapter 16 and verse 14. This will be described in much more detail in chapter 19.
And chosen = We read in John 15:16, Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
Chosen in Greek is eklektoi (ek-lek-toy’) we get our word “elect” from that.
