Description

In this week’s study, I continue in Chapter 11 verses 5-6.I start out reading from Zechariah Chapter 4. We have to realize that there is a message contained in verses 3 and 4 about the 2 witnesses and the lesson taught to us in Zechariah 4!
Keep in mind that at this point in time we are in the 6th trumpet, 5th seal, as we have learned in a prior study that the 6th seal, 7th trumpet and 7th vial all show the same events, Earthquakes, sun black, moon blood, stars fall, mountains islands move, Yahweh Wrath, great voices, lightings voices thunders and great hail.
In verses 3-14 we have the account of the Two Witnesses, one of the most serious and mysterious scenes of the whole Apocalypse. It is the test of all interpretations, and one over which many make shipwreck. The particulars of the mission of these Two Witnesses are given with great detail.
In our previous study we read here in this Chapter 11 verses 3 and 4 about the 2 witnesses which are the 2 olive trees and the 2 candlesticks which stand before Yahweh.
Now we realize that Yahweh has not specified their names. They are called emphatically “My 2 Witnesses). We know that 2 men are to be raised up “in that day” endowed with wondrous power to execute a special mission.
Don’t over look this bible lesson that John is giving us!!!!!

The Olive Trees and Candlesticks is in reference to Zechariah (Yah has remembered) Chapter 4

Keep in mind at this point in time we are in the 6th Trumpet (9:13), near the end of the 5th seal (6:9) or maybe in the beginning of the 6th seal (6:12).

Now between the sounding of the 6th and 7th trumpets there is another pause (10:1-11:14). Just as there was an interlude before the breaking of the 7th seal, so now there is an interlude before the sounding of the 7th trumpet (11:15). This vision, however, differs from the message of consolation and assurance introduced between the breaking of the 6th and 7th seals. That emphasized the safety and the glory of the persecuted people of Yahweh; the message describes the mingling of the sweet and the bitter. It speaks of persecution and tribulation, but also of loyalty and devotion.
· Oil lubricates when used for that purpose – there is little friction and wear among those who are lubricated by the Spirit of Yahweh.

· Oil heals and was used as a medicinal treatment in biblical times (Luke 10:34) – the Spirit of Yahweh brings healing and restoration.

· Oil lights when it is burned in a lamp – where the Spirit of Yahweh is there is light.

· Oil warms when it is used as fuel for a flame – where the Spirit of Yahweh is there is warmth and comfort.

· Oil invigorates when used to massage – the Holy Spirit invigorates us for His service.

· Oil adorns when applied as a perfume – the Holy Spirit adorns us and makes us more pleasant to be around.

· Oil polishes when used to shine metal – the Holy Spirit wipes away our grime, smoothing out our rough edges.

5.         And if any man will hurt them = This implies that there would be those who would be willing to injure or wrong them; that is, that they would be liable to persecution.
And devoureth their enemies = The word “devour” is often used with reference to fire, which seems to “eat up” or “consume” what is in its way, or to “feed on” what it destroys.
6          These have power to shut heaven = For these have the keys of the kingdom of heaven given them, and whatever they bind or loose on earth is bound or loosed in heaven;
