In this week’s study, I continue in Chapter 13 finishing up with the 1st Beast system.
13:1-18.
The Result of the "War in Heaven" as regards the Earth at large.
We have seen and considered the result of the "War in Heaven" as it concerns Israel. We have now to consider its further effect as it concerns the Earth at large.
This effect is twofold, inasmuch as it results in the rise of the Two Beasts:
The one from the Sea (verses -1-10).
The other from the Earth (verses 11-18).
We now begin in this Chapter 13. I personally find this chapter 13 most interesting. I believe that this chapter 13 shows us what we can expect during this period of The Wrath of Satan. Matter of fact we will be creating another chart showing this Wrath of Satan. So follow along as we Unravel this chapter 13!
We see in this Chapter 13, 2 different beast systems. We must ask ourselves who they are and what are they up to.
Also we read of a “mark”. We need to find out what is this “mark” and is this “mark” in effect today?
Now keep in mind that while we are studying about this 2 beast system within the 4th Vision of John, which is on this earth, that the 2 witnesses are preaching the Gospel of Yahshua Messiah and exposing this 2 beast system that is attacking the area of Jerusalem and the ripple effect throughout the world. (By the way, Do you see the Positive and Negative of this? 2 witnesses verse the 2 beast system?) Now these 2 witnesses, by their actions, aggravates Satan and Satan turns on the heat on those that hear what those 2 witnesses which are exposing Satan’s plan to destroy souls, therefore the people that listen to the words and see the actions of the 2 witnesses honor and worship and realize where their salvation lies that leads them to eternal life comes from! Let me ask you something, have you ever considered why Satan and his evil co-horts place the 2 witnesses out on the streets?
8. And all who dwell on the earth = which is a phrase in Revelation that refers to unbelievers.
shall worship = we can say those that don’t have that mark of Yahweh.
Book of life = The representation here is, that the Yahshua Messiah keeps a book or register, in which are recorded the names of all who shall obtain everlasting life. Read the followiong verses on this Book of Life, Rev. 21:27; Exod. 32:32; Isa. 4:3; Dan. 12:1; Luke 10:20; Phil. 4:3
Lamb = Yahshua Messiah. John 1:29 reads, ‘The next day John seeth Yahshua coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of Elohim, which taketh away the sin of the world’
Foundation of the world = “katabole of the kosmos” This expression makes reference to the ‘the disruption or ruin of the world’. This is in reference to Gen. 1 where we read of the overthrow of that first earth age to this present earth age.
9. This phrase was often used by Yahshua Messiah to emphasize the importance of what he was about to say.
10. He that leadeth into captivity = This is clearly intended to refer to the power or government which the meaning is, by the beast. The form of expression here in the Greek is special - “If anyone leadeth into captivity,”
Here is the perseverance and the faith of the saints– He is telling the saints bluntly that these things will happen. This is a call for saints to understand what is taking place and to accept it.
These are tough verses, but it’s where the rubber meets the road for Christians in the end times.
