Where does life and leadership intersect? In this episode Tiff and I talk about why there is no delineation between business and life. Pine and Gilmore in their book “The Experience Economy” authors Pine and Gilmore state that “work is theatre, and every business is a stage.”
We wholeheartedly believe this. Work is an expression of what we value most in life. There are important differences between services and experiences. Hint, only one of them is intentionally designed to be memorable.
Excellence is not an item to check off of your “to do” list, it is an attitude that is ingrained in the DNA of your tribe. Be clear about what is most meaningful to you. Help others get what they need, packaged in an experience they want. Treat people (both clients and team members) like they matter and see what happens. And please, don’t waste time drinking shit coffee, life is too short.
