I liked my guest for this episode so much I married her.

Aimiende Negbenebor Sela is an award-winning film maker with a heart and talent for telling stories that give voice to the often-voiceless aspects of our inner lives.  She explores our vulnerabilities and the things that make us most human, connecting us to each other.  Her motto is that “we are all living the same lives, just colored differently.”

In our many conversations we’ve discovered that many of the same elements that are critical for masterful story telling, must also be present to become a master coach.

In this discussion we explore things such as:

The importance of having a compelling vision, motive and the courage that inspires you              to  embark on your quest, whatever that may be.

Why confronting adversity and engaging our most pressing challenges in life are critical          to our transformation.

Holding others in unconditional positive regard.

How having a level of belief that is greater than another’s persons doubt allows you to              become a powerful agent of change.

The role of the guide (coach) vs. the hero (client).

Leading vs. driving transformation.

Why imagination is at times more important than experience.

Being open to the process.

Following your curiosity.

The hero’s journey.

The most important story you will tell is your own.
