Paul and Timothy shared a very close and unique relationship with Paul serving as a mentor/father-figure to the younger Timothy. Now, years after years of working together, Paul has left Timothy in Ephesus to work with and teach a group of Christians that Paul, himself, spent a lot of time with over the years.
This is both a very personal letter and one that contains a great deal of encouragement for a young evangelist and important principles for the church today.
