Description

Continuing with our theme of God and Family First, our topic for this week's group discussion was marriage. The four questions we addressed in our sessions were:
1. What are some general ways in which our society, or culture, steps outside of
God’s design for the marriage relationship? & What is it about those ways, that
can be so tempting for God’s people to do the same?
(Consider Romans 1:18-32)

2. Describe some ways that spouses can go about making their relationship
secondary instead of primary. & How can those things bring about damage to the
marriage?
(Consider Ephesians 5:22-31)

3. Why would God be so emphatic about the permanency of marriage? Is divorce
really the “easy way out”? What are some practical things to consider to make
sure “divorce” never even becomes an option for a marriage?
(Consider Malachi 2:16)

4. Is sexual sin more prevalent in our day than in the past? How does this kind of
sin damage marriage? What are some practical ways to avoid it?
(Consider 1 Corinthians 6:18; 7:1-5)
