Chapter 2 continues to showcase the constant demand for Jesus's time and attention that He was facing. And a new theme is introduced that will be important to follow...authority. As Jesus collides with the Pharisees on many occasions the focal point of their conflict will be authority. In this chapter, Jesus will lay claim to the authority He has to forgive sins and the authority He has over the Sabbath.
