Description

Ashley and Kimberly look into companies who have chosen to work less hours in a day and less days a week. We were surprised to dive into the history of why we even have 5-day work weeks and why many thought-leaders feel it's time for a change.

We debate how the days and hours could be structured and what we feel would work best for working mothers and their families.

We are also honored to share a new initiative that launched yesterday: #SheSharesHerStory
Kimberly and Ashley are upset and frustrated not only by the number of women who have been forced to leave their jobs, but also by the lack of action to aid working women back into the workforce more equitably. Although action has been taken on government levels, we need to provide support on the ground and we want to highlight their services. Working moms need 3 types of resources to succeed as a working parent: reliable childcare, hiring support, and employers minimizing hiring and retainment bias.

We reached out to some of the best female-led companies who educate and support working mothers and their employers. There are 18 companies who have agreed to partner with our campaign (and counting!). The campaign is called “She Shares Her Story.”

We are encouraging a call to action:

We want to hear your story!
