Anneliese was raised by devout Catholic parents, and felt the need to “atone” for the sins of others. As a teenager, Anneliese was diagnosed with epilepsy. Plagued by depression, seizures and hallucinations, Anneliese’s family turned to the Catholic church. Annelise would undergo 67 exorcisms over the course of nine months.
