Description

We’re told we have to train and practice for our “peak performance” but we’re never performing like athletes.

How many times have you caught a structure fire or bad accident when you were tired or hungry or sore?

Performing at a “peak level” is what athletes do. They train for optimal conditions for years to perform a task for a set amount of time on a set date.

We don’t even have the luxury of warming up! So, how can we perform well in these conditions? By training ourselves under these conditions.

This week’s guest, Aaron Quinn is a firefighter for the city of Oakland Ca, and is in charge of the physical standards in the academy for their rookies.

Listen in as Aaron goes over his morning routine, staying fit in a functional way, training to perform under stress and not lose focus and how cold therapy and meditation can help your mind and body on the fireground.

Enjoy!
