We signed up for all kinds of hazards on the job and sleep deprivation is one of them. It wreaks havoc on our brain and bodies. But, there's good news. We can combat the negative effects of not sleeping or not sleeping well. 
This week I'm talking with Sean Toomey (Denver Fire Dept.) about sleep. Well, the lack of sleep, anyway. He's the co-founder of First Responder Sleep Recovery, a company he started with his wife in their attempt to turn around the effects of crappy sleep that we all suffer from.
Sean's journey in the fire service has been affected by tragic loss of his brothers on the job and he wants to do his part to impact the way we do business when it comes to recovering from a bad night's sleep on shift.
