Erica Hanson Bio:

I've been at Google 15 years and worked across different areas of the business (sales, operations, engineering) and in different offices (Mountain View, San Francisco, London, Singapore, New York).

I'm currently part of the engineering org on the Developer Relations team and work with developers across the world. I'm now managing the team that leads Google's Developer Community Programs including Google Developer Groups (GDG) and Google Developer Student Clubs (GDSC). I'm still leading the GDSC program!

Global Head of Google Developer Student Clubs (GDSC), which are university based community groups for students interested in Google developer technologies. By joining a GDSC, students grow their knowledge in a peer-to-peer learning environment and build solutions for local businesses and their community. There are over 1,500 clubs all over the world in over 100 countries.

Here are a few stories from Developer Student Club Leads making an impact:
- Students build a flood alert app in Indonesia: https://youtu.be/oxQ7wfiS4GY
- Students in Ghana build an AR/VR navigation app: https://youtu.be/GuK4MrXDgng

For two years, I co-led the DevFest event series which are community-led events by the Google Developer Groups communities around the world over the last 2 years. We reached over 100,000 developers through 500 events around the world in 2019.

I used to lead the global lead of the Google Business Group (GBG) program, a community program supporting entrepreneurs across the world.

I enjoy public speaking and have been fortunate to be able to speak to thousands of developers and startups at many events across the world.

I am passionate about communities and co-founded Geek Girl Meetup Singapore, which is a community for women in tech. Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/GeekGirlMeetup.sg
