Hiram Sims, poet, entrepreneur, educator-discusses his journey in poetry, creating the Community Literature Initiative-a poetry publishing course geared to give writers of color a voice and help get poets published, and World Stage Press. He also discusses the Sims Library of Poetry, the largest in Los Angeles, the first black-owned library in California, and a host to over 6000 books of poetry. Hiram has a passion for poetry and getting books out into the world. He will be one of the guest speakers at the 805 Writers Conference in November of 2021.
