This is the story that inspired the song "Jenny was a friend of mine" by The Killers.
18 year old Jennifer Levin met 19 year old Robert Chambers at a bar in New York City, and went for a walk with him in Central Park. Just a couple of hours later her half naked, badly bruised body was found under a tree. Chambers tried to claim that Jennifer died during consensual rough sex. He said "I didn't mean to hurt her. I liked her very much. Jenny was a friend of mine."
