Hello beautiful people

On today’s podcast we have the adventurous Heather Ellis. Heather is a communications specialist with a degree in journalism, and is the author of two books: ‘Ubuntu’ which details her motorcycle journey from south to north Africa and ‘Timeless On The Silk Road’ which details her motorcycle journey along the fabled Silk Roads of antiquity.

What I personally love about this conversation is Heather’s courage shown throughout her motorcycling journeys. She travels on her motorcycle throughout some of the most fascinating and symbolic places on Earth, and it is in this conversation that we go deeper on her thoughts, reflections and experiences of travelling solo through Africa; a continent that has many a contrasting opinion, but one that is not truly ever known unless stepped onto. The culture, the history, the characters and the inevitable self-development and growth that comes from such places. Heather also shares very openly about finding out at 30 years-old that she had contracted HIV and how this diagnosis silenced her. She shares how it fuelled fear of shame, disapproval, rejection and isolation. All things that are not Ubuntu; Ubuntu being “I am because we are”; the essence of being human.

Please enjoy this conversation with the lovely Heather Ellis.
