Hello beautiful people
On today’s podcast we have the powerful Leah Goldstein. Leah was a world champion kickboxer at the age of 17, and in her early 20s became both a special forces officer and undercover police officer; always being at the top of her game in whatever she immersed herself into. At the age of 30 Leah moved into the area of professional cycling and at the age of 52, this year, Leah became the first woman ever to win the solo division of the 3,000 mile Race Across America beating everyone, including men. She is a sought after speaker and author of the book, ‘ No Limits’.
What I personally love about this conversation is Leah’s absolute concrete approach to life. She has this strong mindset of never quitting, never negotiating with yourself, this whatever you choose to do, you finish it approach. She’s hardcore, I’ll give her that. As someone myself who is passionate about endurance and the mindset behind it, this is one influential woman who has truly expanded my awareness of what is really possible; if you want it. She has had two serious cycling accidents, one at 80km an hour breaking almost all of her bones; professionals telling her she will never compete again. The lesson here being, don’t listen to people who tell you your potential limitations, even if they are experts. Focus on what you want, back your self-belief, and this is what Leah did; she won the hardest race in the world, Race Across America at 52. And this another angle, age, don’t use it as an excuse. There is inevitably so many layers to Leah and I think I will best do this conversation justice if I just let you listen to it; to take all the powerful, powerful lessons from her life, her achievements and from her awe-inspiring character.
Enjoy this conversation with the phenomenal Leah Goldstein.
