As we are coming up on the mid-point of the year, you may be asking yourself where six whole months have gone! I know I am! This is the perfect time to review your progress towards those goals you set back in January and update your plans for the rest of the year. In Episode 67 of Just One Simple Thing, I’m going through the process I use to conduct a quarterly or mid-year review. So grab your Planning Six-Pack, Powersheets, or whatever you use to set and measure goals, and let’s dive in.
Does anybody else start to get a little panicked when you go to write the date and have to start it with a 6? It makes me wince every time. Almost half a year gone. The questions come flooding in. Did I accomplish all I hoped to? Am I any farther along towards my goals? Is it still even possible to reach my goal by the end of the year?
If the last few years have taught us anything, it’s that we are flexible and resilient in the face of chaos and capable of adjusting to whatever craziness comes our way. (Check out episodes 27and 28for a deeper dive on flexibility and resilience.)
Let’s go through the nine questions I ask myself during a quarterly review.
You can hop over to my Facebook group, Plan & Pray with Do A New Thing, and download a copy of the Quarterly Review worksheet. Or, if you purchased the Deluxe Move Forward Journal, you’ll find the quarterly review worksheets in the back.
1. What successes did you have that can be built upon?
2. What barrier held you back that you can learn from?
3. What good habits can you carry forward?
4. What bad habits need to stay in the past?
5. What was left undone and how did that affect you?
6. How can you celebrate?
7. What do you need to consider in prayer?
8. What themes and trends do you see?
9. What are your focus areas for the next quarter?
