Description

Today, I share what it means to have an identity rooted in God and not in the world.  God gave us this book to prepare us for the times to come and to strengthen us in the things of God.  One major pillar of that preparation is who we allow to speak over us and where we place our identity!

We follow the example of Christ.  Though He was God, He submitted to His Father in such a way that He allowed His Father to give Him the revelation of Himself, which He then gave to His servants.

We ask and answer the question:  How do we place our identity in the Only One who truly knows who we are?

If you've ever wondered how you can have an unshakeable identity in Christ, no matter what storms may come, then you'll want to tune into this episode.

Before I go further into verse 1 of chapter 1 of this incredible book, I share an incident of  how God revealed to me His perfect timing.

I also share my thoughts about the Freedom Convoy in Canada, and how it's important to support those who are standing up for our collective rights and freedoms.

REFLECTION QUESTIONS

1.   Have you ever broken up a verse into phrases and meditated on each part individually?
The nature of the Word of God being what it is, why do we need to do that sometimes?

2.  Consider why Jesus allowed His Father to give Him the revelation of Himself and  His End-Time plans, when as part of the trinity, He could have chosen to access that knowledge for Himself.

3.  Why do you think there's joy and delight in receiving our identity from the Father?

4.  In this episode, we mentioned how the Church of Pergamos existed in a city where Satan's throne had been established.   For this reason, why did it make it all the more precious to receive a white stone with a new name on it for any who overcame?  (Revelation 2:12-17)

5.  What's the significance in being given this white stone with a new name on it that only the one who receives it knows?

6.  What have been the "names" people have given you throughout your life?   Are they true or false?  If true, how will you become more established in them?  If false, then how will you systematically break those lies off of both you and your life?

How will you position yourself before the Father so He can speak over you your identity in Christ?

7.  Why is it important to be rooted deeply in our identity in God going into the future?  (Think of the example of the Old Testament prophet, Daniel.

3.  Find a favorite verse, break it up into sections, and practice meditating on each section.  Take notes on what you discover.
4.  Find a copy and read Hind's Feet on High Places by Hannah Hurnard, as mentioned in the episode.  It's a great book about how God changes our identity by giving us the encouragement and grace to climb to new heights to receive a new name that only He can give.
