Chiara Padovani is a social worker, tenant organizer and human rights activist running to be the next city councilor in York South Weston, endorsed by Climate Justice Toronto. In this episode, we spoke to Chiara about the leap from grassroots organizing to electoral politics and her ongoing campaign. Chiara talked about her love for her community in York South Weston, the unique challenges it faces, and how she’s working to fight for climate justice on city council. This episode was first aired on CJRU’s Radio Everywhere program, which works in “collaboration with community organizations to produce pieces that showcase the work they’re doing, and to provide a platform for them to tell their own stories”.
