Description

Common Good Podcast is conversations at the intersection of place, belonging & remembering. The framework for the podcast is the relationship of Walter Brueggemann, Peter Block and John McKnight. In the second episode of the second season, Dr. Adam Clark speaks about Martin Luther King, Jr's vision of the Beloved Community and the inherent danger within that vision. Adam is the Associate Professor of Theology at Xavier University and is committed to the idea that theological education should equip students to read against the grain of the dominant culture and inspires them to live into the Ignatian dictum of going forth “to set the world on fire.” To this end, Dr. Clark is intentional about pedagogical practices that raise critical consciousness by going beneath surface meanings, unmasking conventional wisdoms and reimagining the good. He currently serves as co-chair of Black Theology Group at the American Academy of Religion, actively publishes in the area of black theology and black religion and participates in social justice groups at Xavier and in the Cincinnati area. You can learn more about the works of Walter, Peter and John, as well as the Common Good Fellowship and the daily email at commongood.cc Common Good Podcast is a production of The Hive - A Center for Contemplation, Art and Action (cincyhive.org) and Common Change - Eliminating Personal Economic Isolation (commonchange.com).
