Advent Week Two: Peace
Listen to Cn Tim Clayton's sermon Advent 2: Prophets and Peace

In Hebrew the word for peace is "shalom" which can mean "wholeness, delight, universal flourishing". Most of us would agree that this world needs peace at every level.

The second week of Advent is traditionally known as the week of Peace. The "peace" candle is lit, and at the same time the lectionary scripture readings can come from various "prophets", ranging from Isaiah to John the Baptist...and though the scriptures are full of prophetic words about 'peace' and 'coming peace' and the 'Prince of Peace', sometimes we don't "feel" their messages of peace within our hearts as we are navigating through some of the troubles of our lives.

This week Tim shares some insights about the message of the prophets that bring us peace; Inner peace, Social peace, Ultimate peace, and Shalom/Wholeness. The prophets are calling us to open up, to let Jesus in, so that deep peace can begin in our hearts. Let peace begin with me.
