Join us for Amaris Jones' sermon:
Advent 3: The Magnificat, The Song of Mary

This Advent we are looking at the story through the lens of Mary. The one single person in all of history who was closest to Jesus, his mom. Historically we know that Mary was in Ephesus later in life. Can you imagine the Christmas Eve gatherings there with the community in Ephesus? "Mary, tell us the story again..."

As we continue this Advent the story of Mary, this week we look more in depth at the Magnificat, "The Song of Mary." A beautiful prayer in response to God's work in her life, yet somehow over the years and centuries has sometimes been banned by those in public or government authority.
Often in places where the people who were humble, the working class, the pheasants, the farmers, and the common people, were feared to be wanting the "rulers brought down from their thrones", just as the prayer calls for. You might be thinking, "Mary? God's mom? The one in the manger scene wearing cotton candy blue?"

Join us Amaris leads us through this beautiful insight into the Song of Mary. Calling us to make space for the Holy Spirit, to make space for lifting one another up. To lift up the humble, to feed the hungry, to care for the poor and the sick, the refugee and the prisoner. To bring the realities of the Kingdom of God and of Jesus into our world today.
