Epiphany Week Two
Listen to Cn Tim's sermon: God Gets in the Water - The Baptism of Jesus

Tim looks at the beautiful story of John the Baptist is baptizing people, and the crowds are lined up coming to John in repentance and seeking forgiveness for their sins, waiting to be baptized. In this very moment, Jesus intentionally aligns himself among the sinners, and joins them standing in line beside them among the crowds waiting to be baptized by John.

If you're ever unsure about what God is like, you can remember that God is like Jesus. Lined up beside you, getting into the waters of life with you.

We also look at God as Trinity.
It may not make sense to some but the Trinity is real and is working in our lives. The concept may be more than logic can do, and yet it's beautiful and wonderful and works.

Tim shares an insightful message that helps us understand more deeply the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We look at the story of Jesus' baptism with John. The picture of the trinity we see as Jesus is baptized, the spirit descends, and God the father speaks from heaven. One story, one act, one will, happening simultaneously; unity and fullness.

Trinity North Shore is a church that wants to show that God is real and accessible to people. When you think of names for a church you couldn't find a more philosophically picked at, abstract, "word not even in the bible", concept than "Trinity". But if you flip that, and realize that because of the Trinity; God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit you can be assured that whoever you are and wherever you might be; you can be confident that God really knows you, knows your hopes, your desires, your pain, your challenges and walks with you in those places wherever they may lead you. He's in the water of life with you.
