Lent Week 5
Join us for Mother Wendy's sermon:
Working to Heal Social Divisions
This Lent Season we are talking about healing the flaws, schisms and tears within us.
Week 1- How do we heal our inner flaws and become a more whole person, as God intended us to be.
Week 2 - How prayer helps us to heal.
Week 3 - Can we always be the same person? Am I consistent in who God has made me to be? Or do I act differently, depending on the situation?
Week 4 - Generosity; How do we become whole hearted, integrated beings in a culture that's pointed towards fragmentation, division, and loneliness?
Week 5 - Working to Heal Social Divisions
This week we broaden the lens and look at working to heal schisms of social divisions
- based in race, present or historical
- based in class
- based on where one was lucky enough to be born.
We have an incredible opportunity to work together with our neighbors and to walk with them through anything they may be going through.
Paul says when we engage these things in the Name of Jesus in LOVE then we are joining Jesus in his sacrifice and his sufferings to bring a new world.
Are there other hurting people in my world (beyond the ones I already know and care for) for whom God is calling me to sacrifice?
How can I bring a loving, caring boldness into the contexts where God places me?
We pray that you would know the goodness of God, revealed to us in Christ Jesus.
